Safety Standardization

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) has raised the safety bar for any elevating device in use in Ontario.  These significant new requirements came into effect April 1, 2014 and impact elevator/escalator owners, contractors and mechanics throughout Ontario.

We can determine whether your elevators are up to code and will meet these new requirements.  In most cases, older elevators will require enhancements such as: car top handrails, extended toe guards and machine guarding, to name a few.

It is important for any elevator system to meet these standards as they can be shut down by the TSSA if they are deemed unfit during a routine inspection.
